Cover Letter - Ms Human Resources Does Not Exist

Say Hello To The Recruiter: Now seriously, there is no such person as Human Resources. Pick up the phone, and find out who you need to address your cover letter to. When you call and they say "just address it to Human Resources", ask who is your Human Resources Manager or Director.

Trust me, anything not addressed to a real person, just gets mashed in with every other resume application, and will likely get filtered by a staff person or worse, get scanned by a computer. It’s so easy to stand out, by just doing a little extra research. This will always score extremely well in an interview after doing your homework on the company you are applying to.

In your closing cover letter paragraph, personalize it, “Ms. Swanson, I sincerely appreciate you taking a moment to read my cover letter and resume,” now be assertive and proactive, and say “I will follow up this cover letter and resume with a personal call within the next two weeks” and then make the call!

Remember the saying, “when the student is ready, the teacher will show up”.

The real truth is that teachers are always around us, we as students are not always ready for the lesson.
