Randolph underwent surgery on Thursday after fracturing and dislocating his left ankle in practice. He is now wearing a splint on the ankle. Randolph added that he will be able to join the team on Tuesday in order to start rehabilitation the following week. Sidelined from the floor, Randolph explained that he bought his first video game console.

He made a great investment since he is expected to miss at least four month according to Sixers team physician Jack McPhilemy. But Randolph hoped that he will be able to be on the line-up for the last two months of the regular season. A return to the Sixers by the Feb. 18th for the All-Star Game seems very unlikely for the injured player. Randolph even acknowledged that he will need to have practice session until March 1st.

The Sixers signed Randolph last season when he was left without team after a three-year career at Duke. During the off-season, he reached an agreement to a new deal. Randolph had averaged 4.5 points and 4.2 rebounds this season, starting six games filling in for Chris Webber. Unfortunately, he broke his ankle during a scrimmage when he jumped up to block somebody's shot.

Some players for the Sixers who witnessed the injury seemed to have been shocked by the injury of Randolph. Andre Iguodala even compared the visual of the injury to the career-ending hit on Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann in 1985. Even Coach Maurice Cheeks explained that he had never seen an injury like it in his whole career.

Sixers President Billy King already visited the injured player who expects to support his team on Sunday's game against Minnesota.
